4th of July

We went to my old buddy Florian's place. He lives conveniently in Eastlake right by lake Union. A wonderful spot to catch some of the firework shows. We could see the Puget Sound as well as the Lake Union fireworks.

You can also make out the house boats in the background. When parcels of land were sold back east for pioneers planning to move west, all of the lanscape and lot allotment was done over on the eastcoast. There were obviously some mistakes in the land measurments made, because roughly 400 plots were smack in the middle of the water.
That didn't keep people from moving and simply building their houses on the water. Wonderful idea in my opinion:
