Leila talks about how she wants to kill her parents when she is upset about minor things like not being the first to the door.

Me:"really? You want mom and dad dead? What would you do if we were all gone and you were alone at home with no food and no one to read stories and cuddle?"

Leila;"I would zoke. "

Thorsten und Gang in Ulm besucht

Also die drehen jetzt voll ab.

Leila

This right now is Leila's most favorite puzzle to play and to think about to have to talk about. It is the entire solar system, except one of the planets, Pluto, has eyes and a mouth and is crying.

She always ask why is Pluto crying? And she knows the answer, but we always have to answer: because he is not a planet anymore.

Then, she always asks me in German:

Papa, warum weint Plutel?

And the answer, in her own German always is:

Weil sie kein Planet mehr ist.

It's hilarious, because for some reason she inserts that L at the end of Pluto. But also because she always asks the question about why Pluto was crying. And it's always the same answer, but she keeps asking the question.

First summer day!

Today was 69° out. We got to play outside all day and the kids enjoy the sun. It was so much fun to play outside in the yard, and Watson and Leila played with the hose.

Leila und papa

Leila malt all diese hübschen Bilder. Auf den Bildern bin oft ich drauf, und die Leila ist drauf, und die Sonne scheint. Sie malt auch sehr viele Osterglocken.

We were driving in the car. I turned on the radio and it was playing "Creep" by Radiohead, the American version.

"I wish I was special, so very special"

Me:"do you know what they sing in the European version instead of 'very'?"
Milo:"yes"
Watson:"No idea. 'You are a bunch of girly men'?"

Watson at egg drop

It was egg drop time at cub scouts once again. If you don't know what egg drop is, the point is to put together a cushioning of some sort, drop an egg from 10 feet and make sure it stays in tact.

However, they have also introduced a "smash" category. Watson and I decided to build a catapult. see the video and pics below.

Needless to say the egg got tossed halfway across the hall and huge applause. Watson won the "most destructive" award unanimously.

Also here another pic of the catapult:

Melissa's birthday

For Melissa's birthday we went to the sailish lodge. It was great, because we could go to the spa, and Milo and Watson would watch Leila. We also got to go to the bar. Then we went for a hike down to the Snoqualmie Falls. The next day we went on a sunny hike to Twin Falls.

So she keeps calling them "Rubike's Cube" instead of Rubik's Cube.

Leila:"How do you say Rubike's Cube in German? You say: Rubeik's Kube" (with a distinct German pronunciation).

then, two days later:

Leila:"In German, it's Rubeik's Wuerfel"

No idea where she picked up the translation for cube!

They schnogged it!

Leila has a new word. She keeps saying "They schnogged it" when something is screwed up. Or when something is taken away from her. Or when she doesn't get something the right way into the right spot.
