Recap: Berghaus

This year we were members of the Berghaus for the firt time. Founded by crafty Germans in the early 70's, it started out as part of a charter package for visitors to go skiing at Snoqualmie pass. there used to be a lift that went straight up to the house, but a landslide took that out in 2007.
It's situated just off the slopes, with a complete Austrian "einkehr stube" and "apres ski" feel. It's awesome.

Me, and of course Milo and his friends at the top of Alpental. There is this awesome sign to get to the top of this mountain that reads "there is no easy way down. Experts only". The kids were very excited!

Christmas at the Berghaus with the wonderful, large tree.

It snows like crazy. On this particular weekend, we had massive snow.

These last two pictures took jumping the rope to get back to the house right after night skiing. the kids were very excited. We had to hike up a bit to make the crossover to east, then ride through the forest in the dark, all not officially sanctioned moves.

Ganz schoen lecker, ID

Leila nennt mich "I.D." anstatt "Papa" manchmal. Oder auch "Geldbeutel". Meistens wenn sie mir etwas erzaehlt bin ich einfach nur "I.D.".

Also hier ein kleines Video vom coffee shop wo wir ein paar Gummibaerchen hatten. Ach uebrigens, sie liebt es mit mir zu Bavarian Meats im Market zu gehen, Gummibaerchen zu kaufen, und sie in ihre kleine Handtasche zu stecken. Dann ab und zu ein Gummibaerchen rauszunehmen und es zu essen.

 Leila:"Papa faehrt fahrrad!"
Ich:"Ja, ich fahre ein Fahrrad. Und was faehrt die Leila?"
Pause... dann "Motorrad!"

Sie mag mein Motorrad so gerne und wie es "brumm brumm" macht und sie erzaehlt dauernd vom Licht vorne dran.

Leila und ich waren unterwegs im Markt waehrend die anderen in der Kids Symphony waren. Sie liebt die neue Tradition: Wir gehen zu Bavarian Meats, und ich kaufe ein Wurst fuer sie und eine Packung Gummibaerchen. Sie steckt die Gummibaerchen in ihre Handtasche und freut sich ganz gross.

Und sie hat auch eine totale Vorliebe fuer Buschstaben. Sie kann das ganze Alphabet und alle Buchstaben auf Deutsch und auf Englisch unterscheiden.

Sie sagt neuerdings richtig deutsche Sachen. Das neueste "ganz schoen."

Ich komme im sroemenden Regen mit dem Radl nach Hause. Ziehe meine Hosen aus weil sie so nass sind.
Leila:"Unterhose! Die Unterhose ist ganz schoen nass."

Dann gehen wir zum Tisch um Suppe zu essen.
Leila:"Die Suppe ist ganz schoen heiss."
Dann
Leila:"Die Suppe ist ganz schoen lecker!"
